Moss, born 13th February 1977 is a former American football player. He was a
former American football player who played 14 seasons within the National
Football League (NFL) which included the Minnesota Vikings and Oakland Raiders
as well as the New England Patriots and Tennessee Titans. He is widely regarded
as Jerry Rice's greatest wide receiver. He holds the NFL single season record
for touchdown receptions of 23 in 2007, the NFL rookie single-season touchdown
record (17 in 1998) and is second on the all-time NFL regular season touchdown
receptions list, with 156. Moss is popular for his ability make contested
catches. The term "mossed", which has now entered the football
vocabulary, became popularized because of this. Post-football, he was working
with ESPN as a studio analyst for its Sunday NFL Countdown and Monday Night
Countdown programs. Moss was born in Rand, West Virginia. He was a student at
DuPont High School, one of two schools which later amalgamated into Riverside
High School, where he excelled in football, basketball as well as baseball and
track. Randy was also a member of the school's debate team. On the football
field, Moss led the DuPont Panthers to state championships in back-to-back
years in 1992 and 1993. Moss was a renowned wide receiver. He also played as a
free safety and punt return. He was awarded the Kennedy Award for West Virginia
Football Player of the Year in 1994. Parade magazine named him to their
All-American high-school football team in the year 1995, and in 2009, he was
named one of the 50 best football players from high schools ever.
